Devin's Visit to Saudi & Dubai

May 28 - She finally made it to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia!!!
Devin's first few days in Saudi!
 "Chillaxing" at the Clubhouse pool!
She was surprised to see her little sister was the same size as her.

Quick trip to visit the Cornish (beachfront) and Persian Gulf,
or the "Arabian Gulf" as the locals prefer to call it.

We had to stop and ride a camel at Half Moon Beach
but the camel wasn't too excited about us interrupting his lunch break.

The Cornish area in Jubail.

Stopped for a photo opportunity with a few camels that were
roaming the desert on the way home from Jubail.

Always time for a little shopping at the Mall of Dhahran.

May 31 - Time to take a short trip to Bahrain to
visit the Hard Rock Cafe' and enjoy a few adult beverages.

June 4- Since Dubai is only a 1 hour flight away, we decided to spend a few days visiting Dubai. We rented an apartment at Fairmont the Palm. It was a very beautiful, relaxing and spacious, 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom apartment with 2 balconies.

Sisterly love!
Our sand dollar collection.
Marty, enjoying a drink, a cigar and the view.

June 5 - Atlantis the Palm Jumeirah and Water Parks
The Queen of Atlantis!!!

We stepped out of our Limo for a photo! lol

Atlantis Water Parks are so beautiful... and fun!
They all took the Leap of Faith.

We also enjoyed tubing in the lazy river and relaxing in the shade.
Devin was relaxing really hard!!!

 Devin's next swimsuit.

Goofy picture with the flower head mannequin's.
ATM to buy GOLD... only in Dubai!  Is Devin drooling?!?!?

June 6 - Wow, this was a busy day Sightseeing, Ski Dubai, Mall of the Emirates, Burj Khalifa, Souk Al Bahar, Dubai Mall and Hard Rock Cafe'.

The Burj Al Arab Hotel

Ski Dubai and the Mall of the Emirates!
About to enjoy some indoor snow skiing!! :)

 These boots are too tight!
Looking all Glam in their matching outfits.
Just like shoeing a horse, lol.
Finally ready to hit the slopes!
Warming up on the small slope.
Moving on to the bigger slope.

It was her first time on skis but it didn't take Devin long to learn and she was skiing down the big slopes. Of course, Rachael took all the credit as her Ski Instructor!
Marty, Hannah and I preferred to stay warm and watch from here while enjoying hot chocolate and a few adult beverages.

A life-sized Monopoly game board!

 Check out these game pieces.

The Burj Khalifa - The tallest building in the world.

The Address Hotel

This hotel caught fire on New Years Eve December 31, 2015 just before the fireworks show began on the Burj Khalifa. The hotel was fully booked, no one died but the hotel was destroyed.

 The Souk Al Bahar
The Souk Al Bahar is an Arabic-style shopping mall with antiques, carpets, lifestyle stores plus waterfront dining.
 Shopping for souvenir's and gifts.

The Dubai Mall
The Human Waterfall Sculpture in this mall is truly beautiful an relaxing.

The 10 million liter Dubai Aquarium Tank is the largest suspended aquarium in the world.

Tea and coffee, Arabic style.

Hard Rock Cafe' - Dubai

This Hard Rock Cafe' was really cool. It has pool tables that Marty, Devin, Hannah and Rachael enjoyed playing.

The Hard Rock staff entertained the crowd with a dance show and then we enjoyed the live band. Marty bought his souvenir beer glass, shot glass, coffee mug, t-shirt, etc., etc. then it was time to go before we went broke!
The fun is over. It's time to head back to Saudi and prepare for our flight to the U.S.

Goodbye Dubai...
